Frequently Asked Questions - Answered!

FAQ's

  • Vouchers & Walk-ins:

    • Do I need to make an appointment/reservation for vouchers?

      • No, reservations are not needed for walk-ins. However, we recommend checking our website for hours of operation. It’s also helpful to call ahead and ask about the birthday party schedule- during larger parties, the gym may be at maximum capacity and temporarily unable to accept walk-ins.

    Climbing Gear:

    • Do I need special shoes to climb?

      • Yes. Only closed-toed shoes are allowed, we recommend sneakers with rubber soles. Rock climbing shoes are especially helpful for more difficult climbs. You can rent climbing shoes for $5 during your visit.

    New Climbers:

    • I’ve never climbed before. Can I still do it?

      • Absolutely! As long as you complete a waiver (online or in-person), our staff will help you with equipment and explain how everything works. New climbers are always welcome.

    Zip-line:

    • Can we use the zip-line?

      • Zip-line use is not included with a day pass. It’s available during birthday parties, summer/school vacation camps, and select classes.

    Climbing Routes & Grades:

    • Why are there different colored rocks? What do the grades mean?

      • The colored "holds" on the walls represent different climbing routes and difficulty levels. Routes are marked with colored holds or colored tape.

      • Auto-Belays: Graded on a 5.0 scale (the lower the number, the easier the route)

      • Bouldering: Graded on a V-scale (e.g., V0, V1 — again, lower is easier)

    • Do I have to follow a specific color?

      • Only if you're following a specific route. If not, you can use any holds you like.

    Kids & Climbing:

    • Are my kids too young to climb?

      • We strongly believe any child 4 and up will be able to climb! The biggest factor whether your little one can climb is their level of interest and desire! If your child can fit into our smallest (full body) harness, they are welcome to use our facility! We provide a free day pass for children 3 and under when you purchase a full priced day pass. This offer does not apply when any other discounts are used.
